About

I, Matthias Spadin, a freelance photographer living in Taiwan since 2004, created spadin.eu as a way of sharing my insight and experiences of photography, delivering the concept of the art of photography. It is covered many aspects: people, fashion, beauty, editorial, cultural, travel and the joy of taking photos.

It all began over 20 years ago. On a trip to Italy with my friend and a secondhand camera, loaded with black and white films to document my trip and discovered my passion of photography. During the past years and the growth of the Internet, I got more and more influenced by photographers worldwide. Their art work inspired me and their honest and open sharing of their experience.

I joined workshops to learn from masters around the world to improve my techniques and skills in photography and lightning.
With Bryan Peterson, I learned to achieve great creative results with just simple methods and this still applies to everything.
I learned the lightening skills with Joe McNally, who teaches the best lightening workshops and boot camps I have experienced so far.
Those are just the highlights. In between, I’ve learned a lot about photography, I’ve experimented with many ways to expose, I’ve developed myself as a photographer and I’m certainly am not at my peak.
I look forward to continue to learn, explore and improve in the years to come…
